Hello! I’m Laura Ford, a Midwestern native who has fully adopted sunny Southern California as home. I’ve been living in Los Angeles since 2013, and have happily kissed winter boots and snow shovels goodbye forever!
One of the things I love most about the state of California is that the variety in its landscapes is matched only by the diversity of the people living within its borders. Los Angeles is a multicultural mecca, and I love seeing all of the different ways of life coexisting here. My clients and their weddings reflect this range as well – I’ve photographed desert ceremonies, mountaintop celebrations, warehouse weddings, oceanside I-do’s, vineyard vows, and many more! From weekday elopements, to muti-day extravaganzas, they’ve all had their unique charms.
I began learning the craft of wedding photography in 2011, and made it my full-time gig in 2013. My time at art school and my experience in the hospitality industry helped build a great foundation for this career. Though the ultimate goal on any wedding day is to capture beautiful images, I believe that the interaction and experience I provide to my clients and their families and guests is equally important. I make it a high priority to earnestly connect with my clients, gain their trust, and help them feel comfortable in front of a camera. This paves the way for us to create photos that really remind you of the way you felt on your wedding day!
As far as aesthetic goes, my photos are bright, cheerful, and thoughtfully composed. I love to integrate a perfect dose of color whenever possible. My style has been described as both photojournalistic and editorial. I’m equally comfortable documenting candid moments, as I am art directing and guiding my couples though posed photos. And though there are many elements that must come together to create captivating portraits, the process is an organic one and can be more fun than most would imagine.
When I’m not photographing weddings you can find me hiking in Griffith Park with my fiancé Neil, wandering though antique stores, hanging out with my sister and her two goofy rescue pups, playing euchre with neighbors or grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s. :-)

“Laura is the best! Our wedding took place in Topanga Canyon, but we live in Boston so it was important to us that our vendors were easy to work/plan with remotely. Laura was so responsive over email, quick to set up phone calls when needed, and we trusted her immediately -- even across the country. Laura obviously takes amazing photos (you can check that out on her website), but I think her biggest value add is in her personality. She is so pleasant to be around, and got along with all of our guests, family, and vendors. I wasn't great about knowing which pictures I wanted taken (of people, things, etc.) and she just jumped in there and took every shot I didn't know I wanted. I didn't have to give her any direction at all. Also, I was pretty nervous about having all of the attention on me on my wedding day, and she did a great job of guiding my husband and I through pictures (but not too much), in a really comfortable way. It's also worth noting that the Laura's assistant also had an amazing attitude (she was smiling ALL day) and took great photos! We can't recommend Laura enough, so if you're thinking about her, go for it!” -Kelsey Hersh
“Incredible! My wife and I could not be happier with how well how photos turned out. On top of being 100% professional, courteous, and unique in her own style, Laura is what we needed most: someone we, as well as our guests, could be comfortable around. We decided our wedding photos would be one of the most cherished memories we would have for our future and with Laura, not only did we secure that, but the photos look kickass. Huge props to her team as well. Highly recommend booking an engagement photo shoot too.” -Brandon Mata
“Choosing Laura as our photographer was such an easy choice for us to make. As an art director and former wedding coordinator, I already knew what to look for in a photographer: friendly, responsive, organized, bright & easy documentary style, and someone my husband and I could have a drink with. Moreover, we needed someone who could travel between Chicago and Orange County. We really wanted our engagement photos in Chicago, our beloved home and city, but we also wanted the same photographer to shoot our wedding in CA. We were so happy to find that Laura regularly travels between both locations! Laura's kind, laid-back demeanor immediately put us at ease in front of the camera. My husband and I are typically uncomfortable in front of the camera, but she helped us live in the moment and let our walls down—which made for much better photos (engagement and wedding)! During our wedding, Laura kept a close eye on our day-of itinerary and helped us stay on track without making us or our bridal party feel rushed. She was patient during our family photos, and was almost invisible throughout the day while she captured our wedding. Our family members and guests raved about how refreshing it was to attend a wedding where the photographer just let them enjoy the wedding. My husband and I loved working with Laura and we cannot recommend her enough. We will cherish our photos forever. She captured so many lovely details and moments that we missed on the day of. Thanks to Laura, we'll be able to look back on those moments for years to come. Do yourself a favor and book Laura right away. Take it from someone with high standards for photography AND wedding vendors—Laura is just the BEST.” - -Lindsey Tom
